#68: Clean Up On Aisle 3 (or How To Get Ripped Off While Investing In Yourself)

March 4th, 2018

00:0000:00

The core 3 is back plus friend-of-the-pod Belia! We jump right in and discuss the recent very-well hosted, edited, and produced non-Gil podcast. We then jump into a review of the recent movie "Black Panther" and ponder whether race played a part in the rapidity of the making of the movie and its release. The conversation switches to why anyone would own a dog given all the inherent problems and Al describes what his dog, Negan, brings to the table. We then talk about the high number of feral cats in our neighborhood and how we deal with them. We then jump to a recent cross-over that James Harden did to Wesley Johnson in a recent NBA game and talk about how embarrassing it was. The friend-of-the-pod eSteve calls in afterwards to discuss various topics including the previous non-Gil podcast, an update from Tucson, and if public-sector labor union membership should be forced on all employees. We then talk about a comedy duo at our local renaissance festival one of which may be Albert’s doppelganger. The conversation then changes to remembering TV shows Three's Company, Seinfeld, and others. We end the show describing how Belia recently decided to invest in herself, why guys should avoid growing bitch-tits, and review some movies that are nominated for Oscars.

We then switch the conversation to movies we would like to see and discuss the upcoming movie "Black Panther". We end the show with a discussion about the author of movie reviews, the future of podcasting, and what are the minimum requirements to podcast.

#65: The Long Goodbye (or Health Care for Everyone!)

January 19th, 2018

00:0000:00

The Core Three are back in The Cave this week where Gil announces that The Core will now drop to two, as he's leaving the show. Sort of. Disgusted at the quality of the editing, Gil decides he will not be on the show unless he's going to edit it. Belia joins the boys in The Cave and Marco calls in to weigh in on the subject. But Gil's departure is not the only topic covered. With Marco on the line, Al questions his workout supplements; everybody ponders the idea of Oprah for President (RPGs anyone?); and a debate is held over Al's Deadpool victory. The episode finishes with a brief discussion about hang up etiquette and Gil's reiteration that for him, this mayhaps be the end...

#63: Big Brother (or How Someone Can Get Nick Nolte’d)

December 30th, 2017

00:0000:00

The group is back, with a call-in from Ron, and with two guests: Tucson Steve and White-Whale Steve. We start the show discussing our recent Christmas experiences. Once Ron calls in, we jump into a review of the new Star Wars movie - The Last Jedi - and talk about logical flaws and the worst moments in the latest installment in the franchise. Afterwards, we talk about the number of houses that have Christmas lights and how that can be an economic indicator but it does not account for lazy people. Then Belia and her friend call in and she explains how she got tied-up at the bar and cannot make it to our podcast. Gil then describes a hypothesis about the existence of super heroes but it gets shot down. Then Albert floats a hypothesis about how they are killing of old white men. By who? Them and they know because they are doing the killing. This leads to a discussion about the new iPhone X and if any new features are truly innovative after the death of Steve Jobs. Albert, then, describes a future plan he has to regress (or progress?) into owning just a flip phone and giving up his smart phone. We then talk about Alexa, the voice from Amazon’s Echo products, and how it (she) is always listening... and then we get into a conversation about Big Brother and how a small spyware program called the Weather Bug infected our early computers. We end the show with a bit of Trump talk, how the Electoral College is kind of weird, being woke, and finally we speculate on who will run against Trump in the next election.

#61: Harassable or Not Harassable, That Is the Question (or ’tis Better to Have Loved and Lost…)

December 12th, 2017

00:0000:00

This week the core three sit down once again at Belia's, this time joined by Belia's friend Steph. The show starts with Gil explaining the rules of podcasting, which apparently, are almost the same as the rules of Fight Club. The talk then turns to porn suicides, #metoo, and of course sexual harassment. Finally, the conversation concludes with a continuation of the classic debate over life with fathers and prenatal vitamins. But it's too late when Gil realizes he has one more topic.

#60: What Would You Do for a Promotion (or Cam I Borrow Your Truck…and Credit Card)?

December 5th, 2017

00:0000:00

This week Red joins the core three for an in depth discussion about sexual harassment that's given permission right out of the gate. Matt Lauer, double standards, and workplace advancements dominate the harassment conversation for most of the show, until Al takes a pause to give Marco a birthday shout out, after which Al's truck, Gil's credit card and the WNBA round out the conversation.

#59: Workplace Etiquette (or How to Say Hello Without Being Accused of Sexual Harassment)

November 18th, 2017

00:0000:00

This week Albert and Gil begin the show while waiting for Belia to arrive. We start discussing the newest sexual harassment revelations this week. We then talk about the new season of Walking Dead and why is it going to take 18 months until the final season of Game of Thrones airs. We then discuss why Ron is not on the podcast this week and where he is instead. Afterwards, we talk briefly about the shows Westworld and Mindhunter before we dig into the movie Split directed by M. Night Shamalama ding-dong. Albert then describes how he got turned on by a recent SNL host named Tiffany Haddish then Belia shows up (podcast miracle). With Belia, we discuss sexual harassment given her female perspective specifically in the healthcare environment. We also talk about how nurses and doctors handle body parts and sexual organs while in the hospital without getting aroused. We end the show discussing the differences between salary and hourly jobs and how to know when your job is getting outsourced.
