July 3rd, 2017

00:0000:00

We are back with just the guys plus Dr. La Marca. We start the show with 4th of July talk and then Ron brings up that Harry Potter just turned 20 years old today (if he were real and if anyone cared). We then play a short clip of Michael Winslow playing "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin with his mouth. Dr. La Marca then describes his life of leisure which includes a doorman and personal assistant. We then discuss the amount of food that is wasted at potlucks and how we don't trust coworker's food expertise. This leads to a realization of the need to diversify our cohort of friends to include more non-whites and non-Mexicans. Al then describes Gil's pot-smoking, 3-D printing, slacker doppelganger, Bernard. We then discuss having worst-case protocols to fall back on when the proverbial shit hits the fan in your life. As with everything, this leads us to a discussion about porn. We end the show with a discussion about how to find your drinking/stripper bar, some home-remodeling update talk, and the mentee/apprentice/assistant vs. master relationship and how to use it to get things done.

Then we talk about the case of Michelle Carter who was convicted of "killing" a suicidal man by texts. We then move on to Johnny Depp's recent comments about Trump and get into a bigger discussion regarding Trump-hate in our current times. After comparing our different driving patterns and trying to define what makes a "good" driver, we end the show by having a discussion about different family structures and the need for fathers, the possibility of impeaching a president given previous precedents, the special elections this week, the new season of "House of Cards", and the treatment of Hollywood celebrities towards Trump.

#42: Social Donut Experiment

June 13th, 2017

00:0000:00

We are back from a two-week vacation! In the studio this week is BDR and Matt along with the core 4. We start the show with a few stories and then do a round of Trump impersonations. We quickly discuss Kathy Griffin's recent (fake) Trump beheading and apology. We then discuss the movie Pulp Fiction and then review the more recent movie "Alien: Covenant" with very conflicting viewpoints. We then review the newer movie "Independence Day" with more conflicting viewpoints. Finally, we review the recent "Wonder Woman" movie with (big surprise) very conflicting viewpoints but we mostly agree that Gal Gadot is hotter than Linda Carter. Then we have a frank and timely discussion about the lack of social mobility in both rural and inner city settings. Then we sing "Welcome Back" for La Marca since he has moved back to Phoenix. By the end of the show, we discuss the recent Comey news and question why anyone would go to a bar in the morning to watch congressional hearings. Then we end the show with a description of a little social donut experiment with a dusting of shame.

We then talk about Jenifer's recent flight to Dallas to help La Marca move back to Phoenix (we think). Then we have a round of "Trump Talk with Ron" while simultaneously two guys try to open a bottle of El Presidente brandy (great visual podcast humor). We end the show with a live revoking of our permission to podcast.

The core four are back in the studio for another round of pod. Jenifer opens up by revealing that it is the 7th anniversary of one of her ovaries (the bad one) being removed - an ova-versary! Then we briefly talk about when you know you "made it". After another dead pool talk, BDR shows up. Then we bring up whether or not Trump will serve out his term and what went wrong with Bill O'Reilly's recent exit from Fox News. We then play the Sexual Euphemism Game where each player must describe in graphic detail a sexual euphemism. #37: White Male Heteronormative

April 23rd, 2017

00:0000:00

Bonus podcast this week! The group is enjoying a night cap with recurring guests Alicia and La Marca. We jump right into the omnipresent problem of conforming to the "white male heteronormative" that some people believe exist. We go over various workplace scenarios and discuss where sexist and racist moments can occur sometimes without any acknowledgement. We talk about the difference between the terms "woman" and "female" and when to use either one. We study the definition of business success and perhaps how it should be re-structured and defined. We have a thought experiment to see if we can imagine what a world would look like under gender equality in the workplace.

Unfortunately, by the somewhat abrupt end, no one had learned anything and no opinions were swayed.

Then, after a short discussion about the recent MOAB that was dropped on terrorists, we review the season finale of The Walking Dead. Then Ron rants about how Glenn was killed on the show.
